Center Mission
To improve the socioeconomic well-being of citizens in rural communities in a ten-parish region in Southwest Louisiana 1) providing leadership that assures focused, applied rural development research and community outreach; 2) increasing awareness and understanding of rural development conditions, issues strategies and policies, and 3) providing rural community stakeholders and policy makers with the information necessary for public policy decision-making.

The Center's 10-parish region includes: Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Lafayette, Point Coupee, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion.
